Education Scholarship Scheme for Army Personnel 2025
The Education Scholarship Scheme for Army Personnel (ESSA) was launched in 1978 with the objective of promoting education among the wards of serving Army personnel and Military Nursing Service (MNS) officers. The scheme provides scholarships at school, graduation, and post-graduation levels for students studying in recognized institutions across India. Over the years, ESSA has emerged as a strong motivating factor for wards of serving personnel, encouraging them to pursue academic excellence and rewarding meritorious performance. The scheme is governed under AO 04/2021/AG and continues to expand its support every year.
Documents Required
Applicants submit the following documents: OC (Officer Commanding) Certificate (as per prescribed format) Institution/Bonafide Certificate Marksheet of the immediate academic year Proof of admission (Fee Receipt/Admission Letter) Student’s Bank Account details (Passbook copy) ID Card of serving Army personnel (parent/guardian)
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria: The scholarship is open to the wards of all serving Army personnel and MNS Officers. The applicant must be below 25 years of age. The student must be studying in a recognized school, college, or institution in India. The applicant must have secured the minimum cut-off percentage prescribed for their respective class/category.
